$42,000 in 1 Month Selling My Kindle eBooks

42-featuredCanadian author Cheryl Kaye Tardif shares her story of how she made over $42,000 in one month selling the Kindle books she wrote through the Amazon KDP Select program. In a recent update she says she made $200,000 in just over 9 months.

I gave up writing ebooks; only wrote 3-4 myself. Didn't think there was much money in it, although the market I was writing for was small. But for anyone who is 50, alone, and maybe even retired, if you like to write, this book will offer you some amazing promotion tips. She says:

I don't normally tell people how much money I make, but I believe writers need to know it IS possible to earn a real income from your books. Seriously, if I can do it, anyone can--if you have the right combination of criteria and techniques.

In this book, I'll share with you what I believe are four key elements you must have in place to see high sales. And I'll reveal the strategic techniques I used during my KDP Select promotions that resulted in earning over $42,000--with $32,000 of that from ONE title alone.

Not only did I earn over $42,000 in ebook sales, I was contacted by Trident Media, one of the leading literary agencies in New York. The chairman, Robert Gottlieb, saw my success when my one title made #4 in the Top 100 Bestselling Kindle ebooks, right under The Hunger Games trilogy. I am now represented by agent Adrienne Lombardo.

42-book-coverThe Kindle version of this book is free for the next 24-48 hours. Click here to download it. You will need an account with Amazon if you don't already have one. The book is 99 pages long.

How to lose 100+ pounds

fat-featuredThe Kindle version of How to Find the Motivation to Lose Weight and Get Healthy (How to Lose 100 Pounds) is free today. Note: these Amazon promotions are typically only available for 24hrs, sometimes up to 48hrs, so if you want this book, click here to get it now.

I must admit, I have no idea what it's like to be over-weight. In the last 30 years, I've probably only gained about 10 pounds, and I'm happier with it, believe it or not. But I do understand the struggles people go through. Many people go from one diet fad to the next. Sometimes they even go in circles and repeat the same methods and fads. It all starts off with the same dream: to lose weight.

The author of the book is Paula Seymour who developed this plan and has lost 120+ pounds. Watch her motivational video below titled Dream a Little Dream...

lose-100-bookI've learned losing weight isn't something you can do for someone else. It's something you have to do for yourself. Like anything else, if you want to make some major changes in your life, you really need to want it. Ms. Seymour is an expert on this. Her book How to Find the Motivation to Lose Weight and Get Healthy (How to Lose 100 Pounds) is the first in series of 6 books she has written on this topic. Click here to get it now.

I know she looks fairly young in the video, but apparently she is over 40. I have to admit, if she's over 40, she is looking great for her age. If you're looking for a weight-loss guru, she could be it. She has been offering a lot of support to the folks who get her books. She maintains an active blog, that's recently been updated as well as a Facebook group page, and a YouTube channel with a number of videos. Seems to me, if you like this Kindle book that is free today, and are interested in more, you could wind up with a complete support system in place by joining her Facebook page, and subscribing to her blog. She seems very genuine; like she cares. Here are her own words from her author's page on Amazon:

I don't want to be that person who is selling you a formula for losing weight fast and fixing your life, yet hiding behind my own weight and insecurities. I will tell you straight out that you and I are very much the same. I'm not perfect in this and I like to call myself a work-in-progress for sure.

I know what it's like to feel like giving up. I know what it's like to let the weight control our lives.

PLEASE hear me when I say that you are not alone and you REALLY can change your life.

You are fully capable and you don't need a fad diet or a fast weight loss plan.

You do need to be able to believe in yourself and you need to know that YOU can create a very realistic plan that will have you losing weight AND enjoying your life as you do so. It is possible and it's not JUST about the scale.

I hope that you will allow me to "walk with you" as you create a plan for your own success. I would love nothing more than to hear from you and celebrate your successes along the way.

Please reach out to me via the blog links you see to the right or join me and an AMAZING group of people on Facebook at:

I would love to "meet" you there and hear your story. :)

Wishing you much success!

~ Paula

25 Major Pentatonic Licks for Blues Guitar

The Kindle version of 25 Major Pentatonic Licks for Blues Guitar is free until Dec. 27, 2012. It contains 25 new and original Major Pentatonic blues guitar licks. Each lick has a corresponding audio example which is available for free download (no strings attached!) Also included are 3, high quality backing tracks at different speeds to get you playing as soon as possible.  Also in this book there is a great section on how to practice these lines so they naturally incorporate into your playing.

If you ever wanted to learn how to play lead guitar, this is the scale you start with it. The beauty of this type of scale is that you don't have to worry about playing any of the notes in the scale that would sound bad across any of the chord changes. Once you memorize the scale and learn to play it in a few positions up and down the neck, all you really need to do is to let your ear guide you on how to put the notes together.

If you're not feeling overly creative, just learn the licks detailed in this book.

When you first download the book, you might be a little confused when the author says, "This book contains 25 new and original minor blues guitar licks. There are 5 licks for each of the 5 blues scale shapes shown below."

I'm not sure if that is a mistake or not. Is he teaching you a major or a minor pentatonic scale? It depends on your root note, you see... because both scales use the same fingering pattern, but depending on the root note, you can make it sound bluesy or bright. Watch the video below to get a better understanding of what I'm talking about.

Click here to download your copy of the book now. And keep in mind, that these scale patterns can be both major and minor depending on the root note as explained in the above video. If you get confused feel free to post a question in this section of forums, and I'll try and help you out if I can.

For those of you who aren't satisfied catching a lesson here and there, Steve Krenz offers the Gibson s Learn & Master Guitar course. You get 10 instructional DVDs, 5 Jam-along CDs, 100+ page lesson book and online support. Click here to learn more about it.

I’ll Have The Soup And Salad

The Kindle version of  I'll Have The Soup And Salad is free today on Amazon. It's 122 pages of 26 soup recipes with some of the classic soups that you will enjoy. Usually, these promotions only last a day or two at the most.

The author, Katherine Baldwin says, "Some are fairly quick to make, but some take time. I do not apologize for that. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing right. Plan ahead and make the ones that take longer to prepare on the weekends. Most of these soups freeze beautifully, so it is the "cook once, serve three times" philosophy. You'll thank me for that once you get the hang of it."

Here are some of the soups:

  • Chicken Noodle Soup
  • Southern Style Vegetable Soup
  • Cheddar Cheese and Potato Soup
  • Seafood Gumbo
  • Minestrone

You will also find 12 recipes in the salad section including:

  • Basic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing
  • Caesar Salad
  • Green Garden Salad
  • Potato Salad
  • Spinach Salad

Ms Baldwin also says:

In addition to the salad recipes, there is a section there called Popular Salad Ingredients that has over 30 items and suggestions of ingredients to add to a basic salad, complete with a nutritional analysis of each ingredient so you can make an informed choice of what to add.

The recipes in this book will have the number of servings, preparation time and total time from start to finish. Your time may vary if you are just starting to learn to cook. There is also a nutritional analysis with each recipe calculated using the USDA database, Version SR-24. A nutritional analysis is very important if you have any diet restrictions or if you are trying to lose weight.

Cooking Tips and Techniques have been included to help new cooks get their bearings in the kitchen. I hope seasoned cooks can pick up a useful tidbit or two also.

I got a copy of the Kindle version of the book. I think I would enjoy making some soups more with her guidance.  I've tried a couple of times to make my own soup, thinking "How hard can it be?!"

I found out it's harder than it looks. The last two times I tried it, it was so awful that I had to pour it out.

And for those of you choosing to have chicken over turky for the holidays, there are three wonderful chicken recipes in there including Chicken and Dumplings. I could feel my mouth watering as I gazed at this one....
